PNB launched its first new agency outlet last October 10, 2014 at the Kadok's House Mami Siopao located at 4794 Mission St. San Francisco, CA 94112. The inauguration was attended by the CEO, Ricky Villacisneros, the AVP, Soc Cruzada, the managers of different No. California branches.

Mario Solis Espiritu, M.D., 82, of Humble, passed away on October 8, 2014. He was born on March 24, 1932 in the Philippines, to Dr. Barsinico and Rufina Espiritu.

Dr. Espiritu is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Doris Espiritu; children, Mario Espiritu, Jr. (Ellen), Wilfredo "JING" Espiritu, Teresa Whisenhunt, Eugene Espiritu, D.M.D. (Maria), Barsinico Espiritu (Seline), Rita Espiritu, Christie Espiritu-Sura (Noel), Cheryl Espiritu Belin (Mark), Charlyn Espiritu-Sarmiento (Abraham); grandchildren, Camille Espiritu, Marc Espiritu, Danica Espiritu, Katrina Aquino, Vincent Espiritu, Andrew Espiritu, Richmond Gealon-Espiritu, Nicole Whisenhunt, Mikkel Whisenhunt, Jolo Bejasa, Kyle Espiritu, Kaitlyn Espiritu, Gorby Sibug, Alyssa Espiritu, Elizabeth Sura, Isabella Sura, Maxton Belin, Sophie Sarmiento and Phoebe Sarmiento; sister, Luz Espiritu, M.D.; great-grandchildren, Luis Espiritu-Aquino, Katrice Espiritu-Aquino and Kloe Espiritu-Aquino.

A memorial service was held last Saturday, October 18, 2014 in the Chapel of Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339.

2014 Summer Extravaganza Concert

The Summer Extravaganza Swimsuit Fitting was held at the Presidential Suite #1618 in Agua Caliente last Friday, August 15, 2014.

The concert followed the next day, Saturday - August 16, 2014, at 'The Show' located inside the Agua Caliente Casino & Resort located at the 32-250 Hope Drive Rancho Mirage, CA 92270.

The 2014 Summer Extravaganza in Coachella Valley salutes four of the most beautiful beaches in the world: Phuket, Thailand; Ibiza, Spain; Boracai, Philippines; and Maui, Hawaii. Amidst images of these beaches as backdrops, and accompanied by the music of our guest performers, we presented a swimsuit collection to a crowd of 1200.

This year’s Summer Extravaganza is presented by Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa to benefit a number of charities: Apl.de.ap Foundation International, the charity established by Apl.de.ap of the Grammy Award-winning group, Black Eyed Peas; National Alliance for Filipino Americans, Inc., headquartered in Palm Springs; and a charity that serves Native American children from the Indian Tribes of Coachella Valley.

The event also included a buffet luau dinner for 650 preferred guests; performances by Apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas; new boy band sensation, Above Seclusion; X Factor finalist, Julianne Manalo, a swimsuit fashion show featured 8 female models and 4 male models, including Ms. Universe first runner up, Janine Tugonon; and the club music of Los Angeles DJ APEK. The show was the Palm Springs version of the much-acclaimed Victoria’s Secret fashion show.

At the end of the evening, a 2014 racing red mustang, courtesy of Fiesta Ford of Indio, was brought on stage and raffled off to a lucky winner! Raffle tickets are $100 each with only 2,500 raffle tickets being sold.

21st Annual Pistahan Parade & Festival 2014

FAAE's 21st annual Pistahan Parade & Festival for 2014 was held last August 9 and 10 at Yerba Buens Gardens in San Francisco. Parade started on August 9, 2014 from San Francisco Civic Center. Festival held on August 9 and 10 at the Yerba Buena Gardens.

We experience the best of Filipino art, dance, music and food at the 21st Annual Pistahan Parade and Festival, billed as the largest celebration of Filipino Americans in the U.S.

The 2014 Miss Philippines Earth 2014 Grand Finals and Coronation will be held this Sunday night, May 11, 2014 (coincidentally, Mother's Day) at the Mall of Asia (MOA) in Pasay City and among the 49 ladies from around the country (and overseas) vying for the national title are Melbourne, Australia's Carmen Baena (she has roots in Clayton, CA) and Mary Laverlyn Nalus of Las Pinas City, right.
