Standards
Volunteer Activities
I served two consecutive terms (1997-2006) as the United States National Committee of the IEC Technical Advisor for TC93 (the technical committee dealing with all design automation standards). I supported 21 US initiatives contributing to the publication of a total of 24 International Standards (IS) and Technical Reports (TR).
In 2005 I was elected IEEE Design Automation Standards Committee Vice Chair.
For nine years I also served as a convener of the IEC TC93 Working Group 2, dealing with the international standardization of Hardware Description Languages.
In the past I chaired the IEEE P1076.3 Working Group, and have been a co-author, providing technical solutions, and active member of most IEEE technical committees dealing with hardware description language (HDL) and electronic design automation standardization.
Here is a modern (2012) paradigm for standards initiative I support.
