Links to maps of some dear places
I never climbed Mount Everest, or dived the deeps of the oceans, never jumped from a plane, or ride a hot air baloon
Eminescu Street, Bucharest Romania (Ro): I was born there, and spent many years wandering about this world
Mamaia, Ro: In 1972, there I witnesed (the only time in my life), together with others some strange round objects in the sky, which looked very much like what others call "UFO" ("OZN" in Romanian). Some inexplicable fenomenons immediately followed, but never since.
Baile Felix, Ro: This is a remote, dear place I would love to revisit some day.
Virful cu Dor, Sinaia, Ro: Here I spent many days as a certified ski instructor while fighting for my emigration visa.
Emerson Street Palo Alto, California: I lived for 20 years in this house, a real California delight.
Stanford University: Just a few blocks from Emerson Street. I was admitted there for study beyond master, towards an EE Ph.D. It is a empowering place I visited again and again with pleasure.
Paris France: Sometimes I stayed here when I was in Paris.
Predeal Romania: This is a place where I hope to ski when I will be 80.
Country Club, Bucharest: A cosy golf club where my grandfather was a founder, and where my father played before WWII, which I would hate to see transformed into urban development land.
Il Ciocco, Tuscany Italy: A great place to hold a NATO meeting. I taught there in 1993.
Akihabara Tokio, Japan: The best place to buy electronic stuff in Tokyo.
