Some characteristic of the TD-8 module.

Pros

- Pads: can use piezo/switch pads (pd-7, 8, 9) as dual-zone, and 2-zone cymbals.

- Larger number of inputs (Trigger Input (dual) x 10).

- a 3-zone ride can be used and requires two piezo/switch inputs.

- positional sensing on the snare.

- large number of instruments. Number of sounds (Drum Instruments=1,024, Backing Instruments=262).

- COSM modelling of the sounds.

- brush support.

- MIDI IN and OUT.

Cons

- no choke on cymbals in the percussion set.

- requires update 1.10 for cymbals support.

- can only be updated via MIDI cable.

- older generation of base sounds.
