It has been a long time since I posted any updates. The layout has been changing, even if the website has not.
Back in March we laid the first section of main line into Akron Junction. Below, the test train takes a ride over the newly laid track.
Roadbed is appearing on the front side of the peninsula. Two views are show: One looking from the door and the other looking towards the door.
Another picture of the switching area in Cuyahoga Falls. Nothing is new here and the buildings were just set there to get them out of the way. I just like how the picture turned out.
Finally, we move to the back side of the peninsula. On the right will be Akron Junction and the Hill Yard. The mainline tracks are in place to the wall. You can also see the turnouts positioned for the future yard. On the left will be Akron Union Station. I've started placing the track to get a feel for the area, but more work needs done.
I'd like to thank those who have helped me over the last few months: Greg LaRocca, Tim Siorek, Jon Towslee, and Jim McCallum
