I finished the swing-down bridge across the workshop door leading to the lower level staging. The upper levels will be semi-permanent but I made this a swing doen bridge to minimize the duckunder between the train room and the workshop.

The bridge hinge was made using a recycled door hinge. This can be seen in the picture on the left. The bridge latch was also made using a door hinge as shown on the picture on the right. Both pictures were taken from the floor looking up. Both hinge pins were cleaned and filed for smooth operation. The brindge hinge was also greased.

The picture below shows the hinge pin latch. I chose the hinge because it gave me the best locking in both the horizontal and vertical positions.

A look up the bridge. This track will eventually connect with Akron Valley Yard.
