We have spent the last few months working on the first section of the layout which will house the staging return loop on the lower level and Cuyahoga Falls on the visible level. Thanks to Tim Siorek and Greg LaRocca for their help with benchwork, track, and electrical.
In the first picture, the line from Ravenna is gaining elevation as it travels along the wall. It will loop around to the fron to the benchwork where the town of Cuyahoga Falls will reside. The subroadbed for the loop has not been raised into position. On the lower level, the return loop has been completed for the CT&V staging.
A look from the opposite direction of the first picture. On the left is the main line going west to Cuyahoga Falls.
Now a look at all of the levels of the railroad. To the left on the lower level is the CT&V staging. A test train is set up with an Athearn switcher and some 86' boxcars on the approach track against the wall. Two tank cars are on the line from Ravenna (which will be to the left, above the CT&V staging) to Cuyahoga Falls. Finally, the line from Cuyahoga Falls to Akron Junction will cross over the Ravenna - Cuyahoga Falls track. Only one side of the subroadbed is complete.
