Creating a session, and running a runtype

Run $AFECS_HOME/bin/rcgui and click

• Sessions > New...

• Enter desired session name

• Click OK

As a result in the controlSessions.xml file the session information will be recorded with the start-up run-number = 1, and configuration name undefined. Now you have to choose a runType or configuration to be running in this new created session. For that click:

• Configurations > Cool

The list of configuration files from the $COOL_HOME/config directory will be provided for selection.However in case the directory is empty an alert dialog box will inform that runType directory is empty. In the case you specified mSQL database, where CODA2 configuration knowledge base is stored, you can convert CODA2 runType information from the database to COOL configuration files. For that click:

• Options > Coda2 database > RunTypes...

• Choose the runType from the list

• Click OK

Confirmation dialog will be provided, making sure that you are ready to overwrite existing COOL configuration files.

This will convert CODA2 database stored configuration information into the COOL configuration file structure.

After you must select COOL description file from the list:

• Configurations > Cool

• Choose the runType from the list

• Click OK

and click:

• Control > Connect

Run State text field in the Run Status panel will show connected.

Now you are ready to start a run.
