The junior advisory program focuses on helping students continue to develop relationships and be successful in high school. For the 2017-2018 school year, the junior team has decided to take over the creation of this advisory guide. They are going to send lesson plans out on a weekly basis to their team instead of working from a pre-created advisory guide.
In the past, students continued creating plans to develop themselves in each of the Six Comer Pathways. They also began preparing for their senior year and life after high school. Students used the junior advisory guide during the seventy minute advisory period each week. Teachers were also allowed to come up with their own lessons, as long as they covered the same topics each week.
Students will continue to complete three Student Led Conferences. To prepare for the conferences, they spend two advisory periods working on their junior student success plans. This year, juniors will also create their 21st Century E-Portfolios in advisory instead of in their English class.
