After Concert Refreshments
Directions for hosting the after concert refreshments:
- 2 adults to volunteer
- Before each concert: Contact the band/chorus directors and remind them to email about donating food items. You can provide fliers for students to take home if you have the ability to make them.
- You need the following. (These can be donated by parents or the 2 people setting up the refreshments.)
- 3 paper tablecloths to cover the tables ( cheaper in sets of 2 at Christmas Tree Shop)
- 100 of the 7 or 9 oz. cups
- drinks, either 4 gallons of cider or 4 to 5 - two liter lemonades
- 100 paper napkins
- Notify the ADL custodians the day before the concert, that you need 3 rectangle tables set up in the cafeteria for 6 pm. Give the date.
- Arrive at 6 to 6:15 for a 7 PM concert and set up:
- Cover the tables
- Place piles of napkins at various spots on the tables
- Pour the drinks. Fill the cups 1/2 to 3/4 full.
- Set a large trash can in the center of the cafeteria for all to use.
- As food arrives, uncover and set up food. Bring a knife in case you get a whole cake that needs to be cut up and placed on napkins.
- When the concert starts, close the cafeteria doors and go enjoy the concert. This stops unsupervised kids from eating before the concert is over.
- After the last song, go open the cafeteria doors. You may need to remind kids to choose only one item if there are not enough donations of food.
- Clean cafeteria up after food is gone. Custodians will take care of the tables.
- Great Job - All Done!
