Ms Catherine Mokgatle-Makwakwa is an alumnus of both the University of the North and the University of South Africa. She holds several qualifications ranging from nursing sciences to health management.  She is currently the director of Lefika La Botshabelo Orphans and Vulnerable Children Centre, a Ministry of Saint Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tshwane. ​

Catherine has served on the South African Dental Technicians Council for 10 years, as appointed by the Minister of Health, representing the broader public, in both capacities of board member and president. She is passionate about community development, and has served as director on the board of three faith-based organisations namely the Tshwane Leadership Foundation, the James 1:27 Trust and Siyaphila Youth Development Trust. ​

Catherine has wide experience in nursing education, and has served as lecturer, trainer, and principal of Ga-Rankuwa Nursing College. She currently provides strategic direction to various community-based organisations in her community.
