NEHAWU : A union’s perspective on UNISA’s response to the pandemic

NEHAWU UNISA

Mr Lunathi Hontoti is the current Chairperson of the majority union representing workers in the University of South Africa, the National Education Health and Allied Workers Union (NEHAWU). He currently holds the responsibility of Deputy Chairperson of the Institutional Forum and serves as a member of various committees in the university at the behest of the union. He is an activist of social justice inside and outside of the university as well as a community leader having grown in the ranks of the youth and student movement. As a former Deputy President of the UNISA National Student Representative Council, he has an unquestionable bias towards the primary stakeholders in the university and the working-class in general.
