Prof Patrick Mafora

Prof Patrick Mafora completed a BA degree and Higher Education Diploma at Fort Hare University; B.Ed. at Unisa; MA (Leadership in Educational Administration) cum laude at Bradley University in the United States; and a D.Ed. at the University of Johannesburg. Patrick Mafora is a Professor in Educational Leadership and Management, currently serving as the Director: Regional Services at Unisa, where he also served as Acting Director and a Chair of Department in the College of Education.  Prior to this role, he was the Vice Rector: Administration at Lehurutshe College of Education in the North West Province.

His research interests include democracy, social justice and transformation in school governance and management.  Subsequent to his doctoral thesis titled: The implementation of shared decision-making in teacher training college management, he has published and co-published several book chapters, articles in accredited peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He has supervised several doctoral and Master's degree students to completion.
