Date I took this class: Fall 2007
Teacher: James Phelps
Teacher's site: None listed
Grade earned: -A
Book used: Fundamentals of Physics Volumes 1 and 2, 8th edition, by Halliday, Resnick, and Walder.
Professor Phelps is, overall, a flexible and lenient teacher.
Phelps teaches the ideas and principals almost exclusively through examples.
Phelps assigns eight to fifteen questions from the book and collects them every week (he is flexible on the collection date).
All students who want to get a passing grade should read the book.
Phelps's exams are either extremely easy or very difficult. Students attentive in class will pass the easy ones with A's. The difficult exams have some trick questions in them and are loosely based on the homework (these trick questions are extra credit).
The physics book is required, necessary to read, and all homework is assigned from it. Students can also use the 7th edition of the book.
