PPROM can be isolating. Connecting with other people who have experienced PPROM, premature birth, NICU care, pregnancy loss, or pregnancy after PPROM can help some patients and families feel less alone.
The PPROM Foundation does not currently operate or moderate an official support group.
There are many online and community-based groups where people affected by PPROM connect with one another. These groups may be hosted by individuals, nonprofit organizations, hospitals, or social media communities.
When choosing a group, consider whether it:
feels supportive and respectful
protects members' privacy
clearly distinguishes personal experience from medical advice
has active moderation
allows different PPROM experiences and outcomes to be discussed respectfully
Remember: peer support can be valuable, but another person's PPROM experience cannot predict what will happen in your pregnancy.
Medical questions and treatment decisions should be discussed with your healthcare team.
Depending on your needs, support may also be available through:
your hospital or healthcare system
Maternal-Fetal Medicine
NICU family-support programs
social workers
mental-health professionals
pregnancy and infant loss organizations
prematurity and NICU organizations
local parent groups
Families experiencing pregnancy or infant loss may wish to connect with organizations that specialize in bereavement and pregnancy-loss support.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, online groups, social media communities, and third-party organizations linked or discussed on this website are not operated, moderated, or endorsed by The PPROM Foundation.
Information shared in peer-support spaces reflects individual experiences and should not be considered medical advice.
The PPROM Foundation respects the language parents and families use to describe themselves and their experiences.
