Course Description:

The objective of this course is to help the student developing the necessary skills in computer and quantitative models related to finance. It mainly emphasis on training the student on divers computer applications and software packages relating to business and finance.

The course covers the following areas:

1- The use of spread sheets in tabulating data and formulating models to perform financial, statistical, and logical analysis in different financial topics:

a. Break even analysis.

b. Financial analysis.

c. Project evaluation.

d. Risk analysis.

e. Feasibility study.

f. Valuing Bonds

g. Valuing Derivatives

h. Calculating Present and Future Value

i. Forecasting

j. Linear programming.

2- the application of quantitative models in business using ready made software (Quantitative System for Business Q.S.B, and MS Project) in the following areas:

a. Inventory management.

b. Linear programming.

c. Non-linear programming

d. Transportation model.

e. Pert-C P M.

f. Forecasting

3- Online applications in business and finance particularly areas of financial markets, students will be introduced to sites related to financial markets ( Understanding the functioning and operations of financial markets via the web, follow up of financial market development and portfolio management via virtual sites).
