On behalf of the Nominating Committee of the Middle Atlantic Division I am delighted to announce that Dr. Michael S. Scott, Professor, Salisbury University, will be representing MAD as Regional Councillor of the Association of American Geographers. Many members will remember that Mike managed the local arrangements for the annual meeting of MAD in September 2008. He directs the program of Master of Science in GIS and Public Administration at Salisbury University’s Geography Department, and he is Director of the Eastern Shore Regional GIS Cooperative.
I want to thank Molly Brown for serving us ably for the past several years on the AAG Council. Thanks to the other candidates, Mike Ratcliffe and David Pashane. Thanks to the other members of the Nominating Committee, Molly Brown and Martha Geores. Also, I thank the MAD members who participated in the election process by voting via SurveyMonkey in accordance with the change in the MAD By-laws enacted at our 2009 annual meeting.
