Another interesting treatment on what it means to be human.
Data encounters a woman (Juliana Tainer) claiming to be his "mother" while the Enterprise assists an alien planet in re-stabilizing their planet's core.
After an accident, Juliana is revealed to be an android, but she is completely unaware of this fact. The discussions following this discovery are both touching and profound.

High-Level Sci-Fi... Plus an interesting treatment on morality, command structure, and political/treaty adherence.
The Enterprise is tasked to salvage a once-lost ship... The Pegasus, where an illegal cloaking device is revealed.

Junior officers buck for promotion as one of them is assigned the dangerous task of helping a Cardassian spy.

The sub-plot here is my favorite part.
Deanna Troi decides to try for a promotion that will gain her Bridge Officer status. After several failures in the final test, she finally gained success, learning a very valuable lesson.
The main story involves Data "shipwrecked" in a culture where he is experiencing a memory loss.
