If you live in the Fownhope area the most helpful thing you could do would be to take part in the project yourself. You could do that -By joining us on tree planting dayThere'll be a lot to do - holes to dig, trees to plant and so on, but we expect the day to be a lot of fun too. Don't worry if you don't feel up to heavy work, because there will be lots of other things that will need doing. Bread and soup will provided at lunchtime so help with that will be welcome, as would help with communication, transport, publicity, pretty much anything you can think of. If you want to take part, then tell us. By telling us about any trees you have already planted this yearWe want to plant 350 trees by the end of the year, so any trees planted during 2009 will count - so if you've already planted some they can count, just tell us about them.By telling us about any that you intend to plant during this yearAgain, any trees planted during 2010 can be counted towards the 350 if you tell us about them, so if you have plans to plant before the end of the year - whether it's before or after tree planting day - just let us know. By making a financial contribution to the project if you’re able toWe expect people to pay for trees planted on their own ground and are hoping to get a grant for those planted on public ground, but there will inevitably be some hidden extras – any help you were able to provide would be very welcome!By considering making a financial contribution to the Jatropha planting project we are helping to support in the Gambia
This project is being promoted by Concern Universal and is already being supported by members of CRAG. If you’d like further information we would be happy to provide this but you can make a start simply by visiting the Jatropha Page on this site.
By publicising the event
We're planting these trees for a reason, and we want as many people as possible to know about it. You might be able to publicise the event yourself, you might know other people who can, you might belong to a club or society that might be interested in what we're doing. Whatever the case, we want to spread the word.
If you don't live in the Fownhope area we'd still like to hear from you. You might have some suggestions to make, you might be interested in starting a similar project yourself - either way, let us know
