There are an increasing number of available social media. Although these tools are primarily used for social purposes, they are increasingly being used by, you guessed it--teachers. More specifically we will be talking about blogs and microblogs. This page will show how you can create, follow, and share using Blogger.
This portion of the assignment will teach you the blogging basics. When you are done you should have created a blog and blog post similar to the example blog that we created. Please follow these steps to finish this part of the assignment:
Create a blog using Blogger (link to video tutorial)
If you already use WordPress or have a blog on a different site, you are welcome to use what you are comfortable with. However, if you choose to use something other than Blogger, I do not have tutorials for you.
Create a reflection post about technology and leadership. Your reflection should answer the following questions: (1) What? (what do you know?) (2) So What? (why is it important?) and (3) Now What? (how will this knowledge change your practice as a teacher?). Your reflection should also contain the following technological elements:

a hyperlink
an image (link to video tutorial)
an embedded YouTube video that makes you laugh (link to video tutorial)
an "VCET2014" tag/label (link to tutorial)
When you are done, add your blog's link to your portfolio's sidebar.

It is common for teachers to find helpful blogs that post information that teachers would like to follow. There is a hard way and an easy way to follow blogs. The hard way is to bookmark the blogs on your web browser and then visit the blogs/websites when you think that there is new content. This is the hard way because you waste a lot of time visiting blogs only to find that there are no new posts. The easy way is to use what's called an RSS reader. The following video explains how an RSS reader can make following blogs/websites easier:
