First Time Using The TV?

Let's make sure our TV is set up for us...

  • On the Chromecast homescreen on your tv in the upper right hand corner there is an picture or icon.

    • Don't see it? Grab your white remote and press the home button...

    • Is it your account? If so, skip this section, if not keep going!

  • Select Picture (Account)

  • Manage Accounts

  • Add Another Account

    • Login with school email and password

  • Remove generic account, remove any account that isn't you.

STEP by STEP (FES, SES, LES)

  1. Cast Button

Find the cast button on your Chrome browser in the upper right hand corner between the puzzle piece and the profile picture.

If you are wanting to Cast Tab you can skip to #3. If you would like to change to Cast Desktop then you will need to click Sources at the bottom of the pop-up menu. (Info below on the different sources)

3. Where to Cast?

Once you have decided what you are casting, find the room number where you are and select.

Cast Tab

  • Great option if you want only one thing to show on the TV

  • Works great if you still need to hop over to another tab and check email or take attendance...

  • Does not show Chrome window, Address Bar (omnibox), Bookmarks

Cast Desktop

  • If you have muliple desktops you will first choose which one to cast

  • Everything, including notifications, will cast to the TV

  • Great option if you change around a lot of what you want the students to see

  • Does show Bookmarks Bar, every tab open...

Cast File

  • Must be an .Mp4 Audio or Video file

Google Slide Work Around / Cast Tab

  1. Open Your Slides & Locate Address Bar

  2. Highlight and delete everything past the "/" starting with EDIT

  3. Type PRESENT after the "/"

  4. Press Enter

  5. Now you are ready to Cast > Tab

This allows the presentation to be view "full screen" within the tab. Your students will be able to see the full presentation on the TV but allowing you to change tabs/windows on your device without the students seeing.

Casting From iPad/iPhone

To cast from an iPad or iPhone you will need to download the Replica app from the app store.

Make sure your device is on the same wifi as the TV you're wishing to cast to.

Don't Forget: You can use Kami as a "whiteboard" by creating a Kami with blank sheets (even choose different backgrounds)
