The current implementation of immigration policy and enforcement mechanisms in the US denies immigrants and migrant people basic human rights. HERE4Justice is organizing to protect the rights of migrant people in the US. This social injustice has health equity implications which the public health community and everyone should push back against.
“[More] people are likely to go into hiding, pulling children out of school, not reporting crimes, and not seeking medical care, even for children.” –Human Rights Watch
“We’re hearing of pregnant immigrant women having to skip prenatal exams, afraid to go to church or to the store to pick up healthy foods, vitamins and prescription medicines.” –MomsRising.
HERE4Justice is working to further raise awareness of this issue and organizing in solidarity with migrant people.
Here's how you can take action.

Know Your Rights Red Cards provide essential information for how people can people assert their rights and in situations where their constitutional rights are being violated. This information is critical to have on hand if ICE agents go to a home. Red cards provide text to explain to ICE agents that the person is asserting their rights.
HERE4Justice wants to support the distribution of red cards to organizations and individuals who can make sure that the people who need them the most get them. We are printing red cards to distribute for free. If you or an organization in your city would benefit from having them let us know.
Please use the resources below from the Immigrant Legal Resource Center for examples of how red cards can be used.
