Our campaigns

Each term HERE4Justice public health students take part in an assessment of health equity issues during the time that aligns with what the students are learning in the program. All members participate in the exercise where we place topics of interest on a Whiteboard and then create a survey for all MPH students to rank. Those results determine the topic of our campaign.

As we often discuss in our MPH program, institutions, organizations and businesses typically For the first part of 2023 we dove into what it means for institutions to be accountable to their expressed values and learn how we can stand up for accountability within the institutions we're part of. Voting Rights & Health Equity

The MPH@Simmons community understands the important connection between civic participation and health. When more people vote, the inequity gap shrinks and health outcomes improve! HERE4Justice organized a campaign to raise awareness about the link between voting and health equity and to get out the vote for the 2022 Midterm elections. Read more.

The COVID-19 epidemic has highlighted socioeconomic and racial inequality and disparity in public health. It has been noted that health equality is still not a reality since COVID-19 has affected numerous racial and ethnic minority groups unequally, putting them at a higher risk of becoming ill and dying from COVID-19. Reproductive justice is important because everyone should have access to safe sexual and reproductive healthcare. Read more.

HERE4Justice hosted a story slam & watch party of artistic submissions from MPH students and faculty on the meaning of place in their lives or the lives of the communities they work alongside. Read more.

HERE4Justice explored the history of police militarization in America, reflected on the ways it shows up in our present-day society, and investigated the impacts of policing on physical and mental health. Read more.
