Library Liaisons?

Liaison Librarians provide a wide array of services both in and out of the classroom. See below for some of their offerings, a list of Liaison Librarians by subject area of support, and links to book an appointment with the Liaison Librarian of your choice.

Instruction Sessions and Workshops

Schedule an instruction session or workshop by contacting your Liaison Librarian. If you are unsure who that is, please email the Reference Desk at reference@simmons.edu.

Work with a librarian to provide your students with information instruction sessions and workshops that:

  • Introduce or remind your students of the academic, peer-reviewed resources available to them
  • Offer searching techniques including using keywords, truncation, limiters, and more
  • Highlight the Writing Center and other academic support services
  • Train students to use specific resources, databases, or search techniques

Personalized Consultations

Make an appointment for a personalized consultation with a librarian to discuss the resources available to support your research or projects. Resources and topics include finding and evaluating new resources, training on emerging technologies and assistance with searching specific topics.

Research Guides

Work with a subject-specialist librarian to develop a customized online guide to Library resources for your class. Using the library's LibGuides platform, these guides can also be embedded into a Moodle or eLearning course.

Hosting Events

Work with a librarian to host a guest speaker, faculty, or student group event in a Library space.
