Witnessing Deaf leaders in PNG developing resources for the children and students of PNG is infectious! In February 2025, the PNG Deaf Association, with support from SIL-GSLT and funding from Wycliffe Foundation, launched 26 groundbreaking PNG Sign Language BLOOM books, filling a desperate need for culturally relevant language resources.
The Deaf community loved the ease of access through the Luk Save app and there was immediate excitement as teachers witnessed these resources at the launch event and immediately sought to share them, recognizing their usefulness in working with Deaf children. It is exciting to see PNG Deaf Association effectively engaging the language needs of their own community.
