This lesson is the third part of a three-lesson series on Reversal Indexes in FieldWorks Language Explorer (FLEx).
Previous lessons introduced reversal indexes, explained their purpose, and taught how to create them using bulk edit tools (Bulk Copy, Click Copy, Bulk Replace).
This lesson focuses on:
Using Bulk Edit Reversal Entries – List Choice and Delete.
Creating and configuring Reversal Index Views (e.g., for print vs. web).
Setting up grammatical categories for reversal entries and assigning them correctly.
Splitting entries when a word belongs to multiple categories (e.g., cold as noun/adjective, heat as noun/verb).
Creating subentries (e.g., rain → rainbow).
Deleting unwanted or blank entries using Bulk Edit Delete.
The module emphasizes principles of assigning grammatical categories, ensuring consistency with reference languages, and practicing bulk editing efficiently.
An extra activity encourages generating a Spanish reversal index.
