I grew up in Eau Claire and, as I progressed through my school years, I was heavily influenced by many family members in the teaching profession, especially my grandmother who was a fourth-grade teacher. I believe this influence helped me make the personal decision to become an elementary teacher. I received my B.A. from UW-Eau Claire in 1986 and soon after took a job here in Shorewood as a third grade teacher. I knew I was in the right place.
I taught third grade for 24 years and then in 2011 I was presented with the opportunity to teach fifth grade. I am very happy to be part of the fifth grade team and feel that this decision has jumpstarted a new and exciting chapter in my Shorewood career.
As far as my personal life is concerned, I have three wonderful children (one of which is a Shorewood student) and eight beautiful grandchildren. I love traveling to see family, camping in my RV, reading books, listening to music, playing video games with my sons, and using computers and other fun technologies that make our lives easier and better.
