I have been working at Atwater School for over 30 years. I have a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, and have added forty-five credits on top of that degree. Remaining a lifelong learner keeps me motivated, energetic, and better equipped to embrace the challenges of the teaching profession. Each year, I look forward to contributing to the students' learning by providing challenging and motivating experiences for all. I encourage each of my scholars to keep a positive growth mindset and the power of yet when working to accomplish the short and long-term goals they set for themselves. Perseverance is key!
On a personal note, I am married and have the gift of three children. My sons are Josh (Melissa), Jake (Desirae) and our daughter, Lucy, is eighteen and attending Northwestern University. Lucy is an auntie, I am a Mimi, and Mr. Hamann is a Frisco to seven grandchildren (pictured below). Traveling to see friends and family is at the top of our list.
Maintaining a collaborative spirit between home and school will certainly help each child to meet the new challenges 5th grade will bring. I look forward to seeing all my students grow as learners this school year.
