Forms for meditation

Move if you need to during meditation quietly and with awareness. Take care of your knees and body. Keep your back straight.

We sit so that we can be visible on camera.

You are welcome to have coffee or tea during the meditation period.

That's about it.

We chant at the end of the meditation.

May all beings know happiness and the causes of happiness.
May all beings be free from suffering and the causes of suffering.
May all beings never be separated from the great happiness that is beyond all misery.
May all beings dwell in equanimity, unaffected by attraction and aversion.
The chant from Gen Rimpa's book, Shamatha Meditation

Zen meditation is called Zazen or sit upright. This is a form of gnosis not a meditative technique to achieve a particular conciousness.

Loving Kindness meditation or Calming techniques are avaialable. I suggest you keep this seperate from Zazen. Raise a kind and compassionate intention 'May all beings ______ be happy. fill in the blank. After doing this compassion/kindness practice for let's say five minutes, then just let go and sit your period of Zazen.
