NOW ENROLLING AGES 6 WEEKS - 5 YEARS! ERDC ACCEPTED!
For students participating in the Education and Training CTE (Career and Technical Education) Program, our mission is to create a safe and welcoming environment that provides real-world opportunities for hands-on learning, and skills development to ensure future success in the workplace.
In the CTE program, we will aid students in receiving the following certificates/training:
● CPR/First Aid/AED (Infant, Child, and Adult)
● Food Handler’s Card
● Infant Safe Sleep Certification
● Child Abuse Reporting Certification
We will also work with local programs and colleges, such as Chemeketa Community College, to connect students to Early Childhood Education Associate/CDA programs.
In addition to earning the above certificates, our CTE students will be tasked with learning the real-world skills they need to succeed when working with children and families. We will focus on general employability skills, such as time management, communication, and conflict resolution. To learn all of these skills, participating CTE students will be asked to; shadow teachers, participate in staff meetings, develop and implement lesson plans, practice classroom management, partake in professional development training, reflect on witnessed developmental milestones, interact with (or shadow interactions with) parents/guardians in a meaningful way, collaborate with peers to solve a problem, and more.
