The Common Core is a set of nationally recognized academic standards in mathematics and English language arts/literacy. These learning goals outline what a student should know and be able to do at the end of each grade. The standards were created to ensure that all students graduate from high school with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in college, career, and life, regardless of where they live. KRF cards are for DC students aged 5-18 to access school and school-related activities. These cards are not solely for field trip usage. DCPS provides a separate process for staff members to request SmartTrip cards for field trips; please refrain from requesting a card solely for field trip purposes.

School enrollment plays a vital role in shaping our district’s budget and directly impacts the resources available to each school. Our goal is to achieve 100% student enrollment by the end of the current school year for the upcoming academic year. The earlier and higher the enrollment, the more funding DC Public Schools can allocate to your child’s school.
