Eligibility Requirements:
Be a high school senior, high school graduate or have a GED equivalent.
Plan to enroll, or be enrolled within 1 year, in an approved trade-related program at an accredited two-year school or institution (i.e. technical/vocational school, community college or training center) in the United States.
Not be an employee or dependent of an employee of the The Home Depot. Employees of The Home Depot and their dependents are eligible to apply for a scholarship from The Homer Fund.
Programs/Career Paths: Carpentry, Construction Management, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing.
Application Deadlines: March 31, June 30, Sept. 30 and Dec. 31.
The Virginia Department of Aviation (DOAV) offers residents $1000 to complete ground school, take flight lessons or do both! Ford Philanthropy and Ford Dealers have teamed up to welcome the next generation of auto technicians by awarding $5,000 tuition scholarships to students pursuing careers in auto, diesel or, auto/diesel technology. This need-based scholarship is applied to a student’s school tuition account and may be used for all cost of attendance, including tuition, tools, living expenses and transportation. Eligibility
1. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States.
2. Applicant must be a full-time high school student or full- or part-time student if enrolled
in a post-high school institution.
3. It is preferred that applicants live within the counties of the AGCVA Valley District which
include: Augusta, Clarke, Frederick, Highland, Page, Rockingham, Shenandoah, and
Warren counties.
4. Applicant must be applying to or currently enrolled in an accredited institution including
technical/training centers, community colleges, or colleges/universities.
5. Applicant must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
6. Previous applicants, including previous scholarship recipients, may apply each year.
7. Completed application and all supporting documents must be postmarked or emailed
by Thursday, February 27, 2026.

The Virginia Department of Aviation offers the Willard G. Plentl Sr. Aviation Scholarship for a Virginia high school senior planning an aviation career in a non-engineering area. A certification of acceptance into a nonengineering, aviation-related postsecondary education program is required. Examples of non-engineering aviation careers include (but are not limited to) pilots, aviation maintenance technicians, aviation managers, etc. Scholarship applicants must have an unweighted GPA of at least 3.5. This scholarship will be awarded each year and is renewable. See APPLICATION for more details. Due February 28th, 2026.
The Connex Foundation will award scholarships up to $5,000 each in 2026 to individuals pursuing a career in the skilled trades (example: electrical, plumbing, welding, HVAC/R, carpentry), construction and/or facility management industry. The scholarships will be awarded to deserving Canadian individuals and deserving U.S. individuals.
The deadline to submit an application for consideration is Sunday, February 15, 2026.
Scholarship Criteria
Be a United States or Canadian citizen or permanent legal resident
At a minimum, a graduating high school senior or equivalent (GED)
Plan to enroll as a full-time student
Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent Canadian grade-point scale)
Have a history of active involvement in extra-curricular activities, community service, or work experience
