Scholarships.com mentions some scholarship application strategies, some tips on a successful approach, and tips for a winning scholarship application.
Complete the full application and follow all directions or requirements.
Gather application materials early
Typed applications are preferred. You can upload your application into Canva or Kami. If you are writing on the application, use blue or black ink. Take your time make sure your writing is legible.
Make sure someone proof reads and edits the scholarship application before submitting.
Meet all application deadlines. Use a calendar or planner, make a schedule, and stick to it. Send materials in before the deadline date.
Request letters of recommendation early. Letters of recommendation should be fresh versions, not copies.

Foundation for Rural Services (FRS) Scholarship
The foundation annually awards scholarships to an exceptional group of rural students for their first year of college or vocational school. All applicants require partnership with an NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association member company to be eligible.
FRS has awarded over $1 million in scholarships since its inception; empowering rural students throughout the country to advance their communities with invaluable skill sets and experiences.
Scholarship deadline is February 15, 2027.

Douglas Alumni Association Scholarship
The Douglas Alumni Association wishes to present a $1,000.00 scholarship to a graduating senior of your school. The criteria for the scholarship is as follows:
1. The student is connected to a family member that once attended Douglas High School in Winchester, Virginia prior to closing in 1966.
2. The student must be accepted and enrolled in a two or four year institute of higher education.
3. The student must have a need for financial assistance.
The scholarship will be distributed to the school in two ways - the first semester ($500) and second semester ($500) of the school year. The student must use the scholarship within two years of receiving the award.
Scholarship deadline is April 1, 2027.
