Jimbo was born in Woodstock, VA on June 28, 1961, a son of the late George Byron and Beatrice Locklear Stout. He was a graduate of Central High School and was fondly known for his BBQ chicken and gizzards. Jimbo loved hunting, trout fishing, and enjoyed ringing the bell during the holidays for the Salvation Army. He became a fixture in the youth football community, having devoted over 34 years to Strasburg Midget League Football as well as coaching for Shenandoah County Parks and Rec. He had a personality that was bigger than life. Although he took a smaller role in coaching in the past few seasons, you could always find him at the grill on Saturday mornings cooking his famous breakfast, to include “Jimbo’s Bang Bang”. Jimbo’s dedication to the youth of the Strasburg area and the county as a whole is shown in the hundreds of kids who grew up playing football, baseball, and basketball and learning valuable life lessons through the game. Jimbo always had a smile on his face and a good story to tell, no matter what the situation. Jimbo will forever be missed by everyone who knew him. His kindness and energy touched so many.
