ABOUT THE PROJECT

The University of Sheffield is creating a mobile makerspace to transport new technologies to wider audiences, such as schools, libraries, community centres and museums. Housed inside a bus, the makerspace will contain activity pods designed to engage and inspire the next generation of 'makers'. Find out more...

The AIm

The key objective of the mobile makerspace is to take design and manufacturing skills and technologies to a broad spectrum of young people. Through engaging, practical activities, we will enthuse the next generation with the potential of STEAM subjects. Find out more...

The PODS

The mobile makerspace will be equipped with a range of activity pods, each custom designed to build different skills. Providing interactive and challenging activities, the pods will enable young people to develop their curiosity, understanding and practical abilities. Find out more...

The Bus

The University of Sheffield is entering into a joint venture with Site Gallery to utilise their converted Peugeot Boxer bus, redesigning and refurbishing it to create the makerspace. Find out more...
