Welcome from the Head of School

A warm welcome to the School of Mathematics and Statistics (SoMaS). You are about to begin on what I hope will be your most stimulating, rewarding and enjoyable educational experience yet! We aim to support you in developing from students to independent researchers, joining and contributing to world-wide research endeavours in your chosen fields. You will be conducting research alongside the academic staff, and many of you will also work with us in teaching our undergraduates. We highly value our Postgraduate Research Students as integral members of SoMaS, and I hope that you will come to feel that way during your time with us.
