Lizzy is the Roots and Futures Principal Investigator and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Archaeology at the University of Sheffield.
Courtenay who has a background in Archaeology, is a Research Assistant for the project and plays a key role in co-designing and co-delivering consultation activities alongside the community partners.
Outside of the Project she is also a Community Development Worker for Chilypep on the RUBIC2 Project, Chair of the Oasis Academy Community Space Council and on the board for the Sheffield Children Youth and Families Consortium.
Isabelle is the Co-Investigator for the project and an urban and cultural historian of twentieth-century Britain. Alongside supporting the development of the project, Isabelle will be documenting our progress via this blog.
I am a Research Associate on the Roots and Futures Project. Outside of this I am also involved in looking at the rich history of carnival and the impact it has had on communities locally and internationally. I was also a Commissioner on the Race Equality Commission in Sheffield, and am one of the Directors for Skills Lab, a project that works with young people to empower them to succeed in every aspect of their life through mentoring and self-reflection.
Additionally, I am a facilitator in the Community Development and Health programme based at Sheffield City Council and I work as a Youth Prevention worker with Sheffield City Council, Youth services.
I am a Research Associate on the Roots and Futures Project. Outside of this I am also the Founder of Care for Young People's Future and love reminding people about cultural heritage. I am passionate about advocating against inequalities, and this year I will be focusing on creating the foundation of a multicultural museum.
Alex is the Project Manager for the Centre for Equity & Inclusion at the University of Sheffield. Alex has designed the partnership agreement to inform the University's approach to working collaboratively with partner organisations adopted by Roots and Futures.
Jonathan is a Knowledge Exchange Project Manager in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Sheffield. Jonathan contributes his expertise in Knowledge Exchange to the development of project partnerships and activities.
