The MDF we supply is specifically formulated for safe laser cutting, this means the fumes emitted when cutting are not toxic, you also get a cleaner cut. If you wish to supply your own materials for laser cutting please speak to workshop staff first to ensure suitability, and check here to see if it is possible.

Here we have all of the larger machinery that requires supervision to operate. See our equipment page for more details of the machinery available.

Here we have our laser cutters and CNC machines. This area is supervised and full training provided.

Room: LG01
This area is split into two spaces. One is for using hand tools, making and assembling and can be used unsupervised for light model making and fabrication. We have a wide selection of hand tools available as well as lots of tool kits and drill kits which can be loaned out.
The other side is the flexible space which is a bookable space but the rest of the time students have open access to the facility. We have 14 single work benches that can be moved around or taken down for larger builds.
This area is generally open over lunch.
Room: LG05
This area is specifically for all your casting needs, from mixing, pouring and shaping the plaster. All mixing and wet work must be carried out in this room. Specialist staff are on hand to help.
Plaster is available from our shop - you will need a risk assessment - please ask at the till for this.

Room: LG04
This is to be used for all spray painting. It is designed for water based paints. Spray mount can also be used in the booth. Water-based sprays are available from our shop.
This is the only area where spray painting can be done. Specialist staff are on hand to help.
