Each level of your course is made up of Core Modules, which are mandatory, and Approved Modules, which you choose from a pre-defined list. Some levels of a few degree programmes are made up entirely of core modules, but usually there will be some choice of modules to be made. If you need to make module choices, you do this online via Online Module Choice (OMC).
Most Physics students DO need to complete module choice. A few students will have 120 credits of core modules and so do not need to choose any modules, these are students entering level 2 of Physics with Medical Physics (BSc or MPhys) or level 2 of Physics and Astrophysics (BSc or MPhys, MPhys with study abroad, BSc or MPhys with Year in Industry). All other students have less than 120 credits of core modules and DO need to complete module choice.
Module choice must be completed in order to register. You must submit your choices via OMC. Online registration must be completed by 23rd September 2022.
You access the Online Module Choice (OMC) system via your student MUSE account. Log in to MUSE and click on the myServices tab then click on Online Module Choice. You will not be able to access OMC before the start or after the end of the module choice period. Click here for information from the University about OMC.
Remember that carrying out your module selection online does not lead to full registration for next year; online module choice is the first step in registering for next year. You will need to complete the registration process once you receive your exams results. You will receive instructions of when and how you complete your registration at the same time as you receive your exam results. Please follow these instructions.
