• DBS Checks - Are all students DBS checked before attending placement?

  • Yes all of our students are DBS checked right at the beginning of their course and are detained from attending placement until we have received a clear confirmation. Students will then complete an annual declaration of Fitness to Practice.

• Occupational Health checks - Do students have an occupational health check before attending a placement?

  • Yes, all students have occupational health clearance before attending placements

• Uniform - Are students issued with a uniform?

  • Yes, all students will be issued with a green tunic and trousers to be worn on placements.

• Smartcards- Are students issued with a Smartcard?

  • Yes, all students will be issued with a smartcard but this will need local permissions to be set for access.

• Mandatory training- Do students complete statutory mandatory training?

  • Yes, all students will complete mandatory training according to the UK Core skills training framework

• Placement workbook - Where can I find the the placement handbooks?

  • The student workbook is completed on Pebblepad, however there is a copy of the workbooks available on the "Student workbooks" page

• Placement Supervisor Training - What do I need to complete to supervise undergraduate placements

  • Placement Educational Supervisors should complete the e-learning for healthcare Core skills for Pharmacy Practice and Educational Supervisors on the Placement Supervisor Training page. Practice Supervisors do not need to have completed this training and will perform delegated supervision. We have also recorded a placement briefing with some training on student supervision. Please see the "Placement Supervisor Training" tab.

  • If other training has already been completed, please let us know at pharmacy@sheffield.ac.uk and we will record this 

• Funding - How do I receive clinical tariff payments?

  • Funding for placements through NHS England is processed differently in NHS and non-NHS organisations, please contact us at pharmacy@sheffield.ac.uk and we can discuss the funding process for your organisation
