The London Mathematical Society's (LMS) Symposia are held every summer and cover the full breadth of mathematics. The LMS Symposia have been a fixture of the international mathematical calendar for more than fifty years. From their inception in 1974 to 2019, they were held at Durham University. From 2020 to 2025, the symposia have been held at The University of Bath. We are pleased that The University of Sheffield is hosting this esteemed series of events from 2026 to 2030.
Sheffield will continue the "Bath format". That is, each symposium consists of a workshop week in addition to one of the following:
A summer school aimed at PhD students.
A research incubator (joint research activity taking the form of a study group, sometimes involving industrial partners).
Typically, (1) will precede the related workshop, whereas (2) will follow.
Information how how to submit a proposal can be found on the LMS website here.
