Castlegate

Live Projects have been working extensively with local communities and civic partners in the Castlegate area of Sheffield since 2014. The following Live Projects have all contributed to a Castlegate Co-production Project Stack that also includes research and design by MArch and MAAD students, and by the Live Works project office. Castlegate Co-production is a collaboration between the School of Architecture, Sheffield City Council, local community groups and creative pioneers to produce a vibrant, inclusive and sustainable future for Castlegate:

Castlegate Commons explores the future of Sheffield’s newest urban green space at the heart of the city’s historical centre.

Harmony Works Live Project brings together two flourishing Sheffield music organisations; Sheffield Music Hub and Sheffield Music Academy, to propose an exciting new centre for music education and performance in the city through occupation of an empty historic building.
