Sustainable Travel to the University
Transport is the biggest contributor to the UK’s carbon emissions, making up 33% of emissions. Many of us rely on transport everyday to get to University and work but reducing our reliance on polluting modes of transport can help improve air quality and our health, and improves sustainability!
Many of us want to make changes to our lifestyle in order to improve the environment but it’s not always easy to figure out how. Below are some ways we can travel in a more sustainable way.
Take part in the University Staff Travel Survey
Walking
Completely free and easy if you live fairly close to the university
If you don’t live within walking distance, try getting of the bus early or parking your car further away and walk part of the journey.
It’s good for your health and wellbeing!
Cycling
