CHARRED TUBERS : STORAGE

Archaeological material

Charred root and tuber remains can be stored in glass vials with the appropriate sample labelling either in the tube or affixed to the outside.

Reference collection

The storage of root and tuber reference material depends on the preservation state of the material. Charred samples can be wrapped tissue or cotton wool and stored in appropriately sized glass or plastic containers. Fresh material should be preserved in an alcohol solution in a sealable container.
