Testers ensure the best quality of a product by testing its performance. They know what to test, why to test, and how to test to understand, model systems, and processes. Their detail-oriented minds allow them to identify and propose innovative improvements in the testing methods. Testers communicate with customers and different teams of engineers, from design to sales.
Attention to detail
Testers have detail-oriented mids that allow them to identify aspects of a product/service that can be improved.
Problem-solving skills
Testers encounter challenges in testing any product. These challenges arise from the uniqueness of every product or system, Testers need problem-solving skills to deal with these uncertainties and ensure the best quality of a product.
Information skills
Testers convey information from performing tests. They need to be able to compare, contrast and sintetize this information effectively, discerning the most relevant.
Programming skills
Testers need to be familiar with and enjoy computer software that aids them in this role.
Communication skills
Testers can be the link between customers and different teams of engineers, therefore they need to communicate effectively.
Design, program, simulate, test and optimise processes and machinery in order to complete exact tasks
Determine how to create a process to best test a manufactured product, ensuring for ensure quality. Can perform electronic or mechanical tests
Check software to ensure that programs are running correctly by designing and/or implementing the appropriate tests
Mary Jackson was an American mathematician and aerospace engineer at NASA. In 1958, she became NASA's first African-American female engineer.
Her work performing tests with the Supersonic Pressure Tunnel, a wind tunnel used to study forces on a model by generating winds at almost twice the speed of sound, helped the USA to win the Space Race.
She worked to make changes and highlight women and other minorities who were accomplished in the field.
