If you plan on advancing into higher education, you will need to make an application on UCAS. Here is how it works at the Sheffield College:
Register with UCAS and link to the college when requested by using the buzzword Sheffcol2026
You will be asked to confirm that you attend Sheffield College, Granville Road. Again, the answer is yes, irrespective of which site you attend. The select your group by the course or name of your tutor: this is essential to secure your reference.
Start to fill in the sections! There are self-directed video guides below to help you with the process of filling in the application and making decisions about university.
Once you are ready to send your application, you will need to submit your application. If you are in receipt of Free School Meals you may be exempt from payment, otherwise the application does have a cost. Please note: by submitting your application does not send it to the universities. This then goes to your personal tutor who will check your application and return it to you if you need to change/add anything. They will also add your references and predicted grades.
Only when both you and your tutor are happy with the application does it come through to the careers team. We will do a final quality check (if there is time) and send to your universities.
Once you have sent your application you cannot change it. Your universities will use UCAS to contact you about interviews or offers- so keep an eye on your account. You can get support on managing your offers here.
