This is a 5-day training course aimed at introducing learners to adult health and social care:

Monday 7th to Friday 11th March 2025

09:30 - 15:30

Classes will be a mix of theory and practical elements, giving learners the chance to discover whether they might have the skills to enter a career in care.

Following completion of the course, progression routes are available onto the following opportunities:

• Higher level care qualifications

• Care SWAP programme with opportunities to meet employers

All learners must be 19+* at the start of the Academic Year.

* Learner age is determined at the most recent 31st August.

All learners must present valid ID at enrolment.

This course is available on a fully-funded basis for learners who are:

• Unemployed and in receipt of benefits**

or

• Employed part time/ on a low wage

** Eligible benefits include UC, JSA, ESA, DLA, PIP.

All learners are required to declare any Criminal Convictions at enrolment. Where a conviction is declared, enrolment will be at the discretion of the College’s Safeguarding Team.

Learners should report to Reception on day 1 of the course, where they will be met by the tutor.

Please note: There is no parking* available on site. Learners are encouraged to make alternative arrangements or use public transport.

* Blue badge holders may request access to the car park by talking to enrolment staff ahead of the course.

Following successful completion of the course, learners will gain:

• Level 1 Award in Introduction to Health & Social Care

Ahead of training, all learners must attend an information and enrolment session in person to find out more about the course and to complete necessary pre-course paperwork.

Please bring the following to your enrolment session:

• Reading glasses (if you need them)

• ID

• Biometric Residence Permit (if applicable)

• Proof of benefits or earnings (as applicable)
