This is a 3-day training course aimed at introducing learners to environmental sustainability and carbon literacy:
Day 1 08/04/2025 09:00 - 16:30
Day 2 10/04/2025 09:00 - 16:30
Day 3 11/04/2025 09:00 - 12:00
Classes will give learners the chance to explore the future of sustainability from both a personal viewpoint and from the perspective of the growing trend among employers to build carbon literacy among their workforce.
Following completion of the course, progression routes are available onto Level 2 Environmental Sustainability training.
All learners must be 19+* at the start of the Academic Year.
* Learner age is determined at the most recent 31st August.
All learners must present valid ID at enrolment.
This course is available on a fully-funded basis for learners who are:
Unemployed and in receipt of benefits**
or
Employed part time/ on a low wage
** Eligible benefits include UC, JSA, ESA, DLA, PIP.

All learners are required to declare any Criminal Convictions at enrolment. Where a conviction is declared, enrolment will be at the discretion of the College’s Safeguarding Team.

Learners should report to Reception on day 1 of the course, where they will be met by the tutor.
Please note: There is no parking* available on site. Learners are encouraged to make alternative arrangements or use public transport.
* Blue badge holders may request access to the car park by talking to enrolment staff ahead of the course.
Following successful completion of the course, learners will gain:
Level 1 Award in Environmental Sustainability
Ahead of training, all learners must attend an information and enrolment session in person to find out more about the course and to complete necessary pre-course paperwork.
