PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION CYCLE
USE OF THE IMPLEMENTATION CYCLE
The purpose of the Counseling Advisory Council Committee is to ensure that a Comprehensive School Counseling Program is in place to meet the needs of the campus and to review the effectiveness of programming implemented campus wide. Our committee members volunteer to participate each year, with campus representatives and various members of the community. Staff, student and parent assessments are analyzed to create goals for social-emotional learning in our school. The data is used to design and evaluate our Comprehensive Counseling Program.
The counselor representative presents data to the committee and reviews efforts from student referrals, and counseling support, to college and career readiness. The goal is to share practices with the committee and obtain feedback. Together we adopt a counseling program that meets the needs of our scholars. Based on survey results and staff ICARE referrals, we resolved to implement monthly social-emotional guidance lessons and create opportunities to improve relational capacity among scholars. As a district, Sharyland ISD has adopted Capturing Kids Hearts and a year-at-a-glance which highlights 9 core values and character traits addressed throughout the school year.
