External Examination Procedure ::  Start with the wing.  Open it up.

1. Identify the different feathers using the diagrams.

2. Remove and photograph a primary feather, secondary feather and covert.

3. Remove a tail feather.  Be sure to take a photo of each for your report.

4. Tag and bag your specimen.  Be sure to clean your table and your tray.
