Arrival & Dismissal
Arrival: Students may enter through different locations around Whitifield. Doors open at 8:28 a.m. for breakfast. Students may enter from 8:30 - 8:50 a.m.
*If your child is eating breakfast, please send them earlier so they have time to eat breakfast and complete their morning routine before instructional time.
Dismissal: Dismissal is at 3:22 p.m. Parent Pick-up is between the building and portable classroom near the pavilion. Students may ONLY be dismissed to those listed on the Dismissal Sheet or Skyward.
Change in your child’s day: If this information is known at the beginning of the school day, please send a written note to your child’s classroom teacher. If you are contacting the school with information that must be dealt with in a timely fashion (e.g., “Don’t send my daughter on the bus. I will pick her up.” Or “I cannot attend the meeting today at 2:30.”), please do not email or contact the classroom teacher. Call the main office and speak with someone to confirm the new information has been received. Please provide as much advance notice as possible.
🥨 Lunch & Snack 🥪
Snack: Students will have daily snack during afternoon recess. This should be non-perishable and nutritional. Snacks are not permitted to be shared between students due to allergies.
Lunch: Hot & Cold Lunch is served daily. Students may also pack their lunch. Lunch menus are posted monthly. (More information here).
*Students may bring a filled labeled water bottle to school each day. Students should only bring plain water.

🎂 Birthday Celebrations 🎂
Per Whitfield Student Handbook: Students do not celebrate birthdays at school by bringing in food, treats, or individual items (such as stickers or pencils) for classmates. Instead, each classroom will recognize a student's special day in a meaningful way that does not involve food or items from home. (I will make sure they have a special day in 2nd Grade!)
Families who wish to honor their child's birthday are welcome to contribute to a class or school need, such as donating a book to the classroom or library.
Please note that birthday party invitations may only be distributed at school if the entire class is invited.
